Why The Rebel Homeschooler?

Being a blue dot in a red area is hard enough. Being a blue dot in a homeschool community in a red area is even harder. We are few and far between. It is simply assumed you hold the same beliefs in regards to social issues simply because you homeschool. While we are followers of Jesus, we don’t hold many of the same social beliefs as those around us. This puts us often in the place of speaking out and risking friendships or staying quiet. I am loathe to admit, but the social anxiety in me often means I stay more quiet than I’d like.

Enter, The Rebel Homeschooler. I’d love for this to be a place where I can share thoughts on homeschooling, social issues, make connections with other progressive homeschoolers, and maybe even gain some extra courage during those inevitable moments where I *should* be speaking up. I hope this becomes a place where other progressive homeschoolers can find each other and encourage each other.
